Cusco City & Inca Ruins Tour – Itinerary

Tour Start Times: 8:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.

Begin your journey at Cusco’s main square, the meeting point for this unique cultural experience. The tour starts with a visit to Coricancha Temple, dedicated to the Sun and one of the most important temples of the Inca era. Next, explore Sacsayhuamán, the impressive fortress with massive stone walls and panoramic views of the city, followed by Q’enqo, a ceremonial and astronomical center with labyrinthine passages and rock-carved altars.

Continue to Puca Pucara, a military fortification known for its walls, plazas, and aqueducts, and then arrive at Tambomachay, the Water Sanctuary with ceremonial channels and fountains used in traditional Inca water rituals. The tour concludes with a presentation of traditional Andean dances, showcasing the rich cultural and folkloric heritage of Cusco. Finally, return to the historic center near Plaza de Armas, completing a 4.5-hour tour that blends history, architecture, and living tradition.

Pickup Locations:

Our family had a great time in Peru. We took the tour - Peru in 10 Days: From the Capital to the Inca Ruins with Flight Included - and had it slightly changed. The travel agency was flexible in adjusting the itinerary. They were generous enough to give us a hotel room upgrade in Lima and a free guide on our Wayna Picchu trek. This was a truly memorable Christmas since we spent it in Wayna Picchu and Machu Picchu which was on our bucket list. All other parts of the tour were great especially Huacachina and Rainbow Mountain. The Ceviche in the class & tasting part of the tour was the best one we tried as compared to the highly rated restaurants we visited in Lima. Highly recommended! We had an amazing day with this tour, perfectly guided by Gabriel, who was incredibly friendly throughout the trip. Despite being only two non-Spanish speakers in the group, he took the time to translate everything into English, which we deeply appreciated. The day was full of wonderful surprises: from spotting incredible wildlife during the Paracas tour, to learning about the art of Pisco making during the tasting session, and finally the highlight of the day—exploring the Huacachina desert by buggy and witnessing a breathtaking sunset.
